Oggi vi raccontiamo chi è Carlo Castellani, illustratore del nostro libro.
Carlo Castellani nasce a Roma nel 1958. E’ attivo dal 1980 come grafico e illustratore freelance. Esperto subacqueo, è specializzato nella illustrazione scientifica e naturalistica, con particolare predilezione per soggetti di biologia marina e archeologici. Utilizza un’ampia gamma di tecniche, sia tradizionali che digitali: aerografo, acrilici, computer, acquerello, matite, china e altro. Tiene lezioni e corsi di disegno e lectures sulla storia della illustrazione naturalistica e scientifica, argomento sul quale svolge anche attività di ricerca e documentazione. Dal 1997 ha collaborato regolarmente con realtà quali l’Acquario di Genova o l’Ente RomaNatura realizzando illustrazioni per mostre, pannelli didattici e materiale promozionale. Sue illustrazioni sono state pubblicate in vari volumi per importanti editori italiani e stranieri. Ha partecipato a numerose mostre di arte naturalistica in Italia e all’estero, oltre a tre presenze nella mostra Illustratori della Bologna Children Book Fair (sez. non fiction).

Carlo Castellani was born in Rome in 1958. He has been active since 1980 as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator. Expert diver, he specializes in scientific and naturalistic illustration, with particular preference for marine and archaeological biology subjects.
It uses a wide range of techniques, both traditional and digital: airbrush, acrylics, computers, watercolors, pencils, Indian ink and more. He holds lessons and drawing courses and lectures on the history of naturalistic and scientific illustration, a topic on which he also carries out research and documentation. Since 1997 he has regularly collaborated with companies such as the Genoa Aquarium or the RomaNatura Agency, creating illustrations for exhibitions, educational panels and promotional material. His illustrations have been published in various volumes for important Italian and foreign publishers. He has participated in numerous naturalistic art exhibitions in Italy and abroad, as well as three appearances in the Illustrators exhibition of the Bologna Children Book Fair (non-fiction section).
